Jack Eby

 Jack Eby's art is an evolving study of minimal forms combined with inventive materiality.  Each piece belies the complexity of its creation and is often mistaken for work in metal due to the rich patina developed by layers of highly polished graphite and paint.

My Story

Jack Eby's distinguished career in painting and drawing began while an undergraduate Art student at Bowling Green State University.  After receiving his BFA, he was awarded a Graduate Fellowship by the University of North Texas, College of Visual Art & Design.  While there, his work was recognized with numerous awards including purchase awards from the University.  

 

After receiving his MFA, Eby joined the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston as Director of Exhibition Design.  In this capacity, he designed exhibitions worldwide and worked directly with internationally prominent artists.  He also continued to produce his own paintings and drawings  His work reflects his collaborations with these artists.

Eby's work has been exhibited in a number of distinguished museums including the Dallas Museum of Art, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and the Blanton Museum of Art. As a result, his work is represented in a number of important public and private collections.
